Question 1

What is CV One?

Accepted Answer

CV One is a CV builder that diagnoses what is holding your CV back, helps you improve it using the experience you already have, and lets you tailor it to specific roles.

Question 2

How does CV One analyse my CV?

Accepted Answer

When you upload or write a CV, CV One reads it into structured sections. When you run an analysis, AI rates your CV against a fixed set of criteria, and CV One combines those ratings into a CV Health score using set weights.

Question 3

What is CV Health?

Accepted Answer

CV Health is a score out of 100 across Impact, Relevance and Structure. It shows what is working, what needs attention and where stronger evidence could help. It is guidance — not a prediction of interview success.

Question 4

Does CV One invent information?

Accepted Answer

No. Suggestions are checked to reject new numbers, employers, names or achievements that are not already in your CV or your answers. If stronger evidence is needed, CV One asks you for it instead of making it up.

Question 5

How does the evidence-based AI work?

Accepted Answer

CV One identifies improvement opportunities and explains why each matters. Where a rewrite would need detail you haven't given, it asks an evidence question so the improved wording is based on what you actually did.

Question 6

Can I tailor my CV to a job description?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add a target job description to see where your CV is relevant and where genuine gaps exist. Job-description matching and targeted optimisation are part of Premium.

Question 7

Is CV One designed for UK CVs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. CV One uses UK English and UK CV conventions — for example, photos are not normally expected on UK CVs.

Question 8

How long should a UK graduate CV be?

Accepted Answer

Most UK graduate CVs fit comfortably on one or two pages. Focus on relevance and clarity rather than length.

Question 9

What is included in the Free plan?

Accepted Answer

CV upload and automatic parsing, full CV Health analysis and scores, your most important improvements, two AI improvement applications, the Clarity template and one saved CV.

Question 10

What is included in Premium?

Accepted Answer

Premium is £9.99/month and includes unlimited AI improvements, every identified improvement in full, job-description matching, all templates and themes, unlimited saved CVs, and PDF and editable Word exports.

Question 11

How many CVs can I save?

Accepted Answer

Free accounts can save one CV. Premium accounts can save unlimited CVs. If you downgrade, your existing CVs are kept rather than deleted.

Question 12

Can I export my CV to PDF and Word?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Exports use real, selectable text. Editable Word (.docx) exports are part of Premium.

Question 13

Can I edit the suggestions CV One makes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can apply, edit or reject every suggestion, and you can edit any part of your CV directly at any time.

Question 14

Are my CVs private?

Accepted Answer

Your saved CVs are linked to your account, protected so only you can access them, and never shown publicly. CV text is sent to our AI provider only to produce the analysis and suggestions you ask for. See our Privacy page for details.

Question 15

Is my CV used to train AI models?

Accepted Answer

No. CV One does not use your CV, job descriptions, account data or AI-generated content to train AI models. AI services only process your content when needed to provide the CV One feature you ask for, such as analysis or an improvement.

Question 16

Who can use CV One?

Accepted Answer

CV One is for people aged 16 and over. You must not create an account if you are under 16.

Question 17

How do I cancel Premium?

Accepted Answer

Cancel any time from your Account page to stop future renewals. You normally keep Premium until the end of the month you've already paid for.

Question 18

Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Refunds are given where consumer law requires, and duplicate or mistaken charges are always refunded. Completed months aren't automatically refunded just because the service wasn't used. See our Terms for details.

Question 19

How do I delete my data?

Accepted Answer

You can delete any saved CV from My CVs — this permanently removes it with its versions and analyses. To delete your whole account, use the Contact page and choose "Privacy / data request".

Question 20

Does CV One use cookies?

Accepted Answer

Essential browser storage keeps you signed in and saves your CV. Optional first-party analytics only run if you accept them, and you can change your choice any time via Cookie settings in the footer. No advertising tracking.
